- Letter Dated May 30, 1865 "Dear Sister" from R.A.C. concerning wanting to be home for elections but is working in the vineyard to help pay board, having received a letter from Henry Witherell telling her of concert and ball, and asking her to be there, wonders if any of the Springfield folk will be up for the summer, talks of the help where she is working (three yankees, one man of color and two dutch women "who hoe and make fun for the rest. '
24 year old Henry Manning died on Sept 4, 1868, in Warwick. An interesting story of his Civil War service with the 24th regiment is detailed in this obituary.

Cook stands for a furtherance of business prosperity in Ward One, for the patronage of home industries and labor, and for an early extension of Birnie Ave. to Fulton Street. Mr. Cook has had several years of business experience and is a promising candidate for the office he seeks."
