Two picture postcards: The 150th anniversary of the Town's incorporation was celebrated in 1912. Miss Annie B.C.Fisher directed a pageant with ten acts for this occasion. 1.Capture and Rescue of Rev. Lemuel Hedge. Rev. Hedge was a Tory and those with sentiments for the King would not be tolerated. Hedge was seized and then rescued by friends where upon he left town. 2.Perhaps act entitled "Dame School." In 1813 a Miss Patience Bancroft conducted a select school.
