Warwick's 1863 MIlitary Enrollment List

Enrollment List for the Town of Warwick from the Provost Marshall's Office. A notice is given to enrolled men in the 9th District of Massachusetts that any person enrolled may appear before the Board of Enrollment in Greenfield, MA, and claim (before the date of December 20th) to have his name stricken off the list if he can prove he is not, and will not be, at the time fixed for the next draft, liable to do Military on account of Alienage; Non-Residence; Unsuitable of Age; Manifest Permanent Physical Disability.

Policies concerning Bounties in the State.

Specifies that every man who enlists for three years or the duration of the war shall be entitled to receive a bounty of 325 dollars or, if he should so choose, a bounty of 50 dollars and a monthly pay of 20 dollars so long as he remains in said service. Goes on to say those who enlist for two years shall receive 200 dollar bounty and those who enlist for one year shall receive a bounty of 100 dollars.

Certification, dated August 27, 1861 from Camp Union, Bladensburg, MD from Robertson, Lieut Com. Co I, 11th Reg. certifying that Joseph Spencer was enlisted into Company I, 11th Regiment and was sworn into service on June 13, 1861.

Regulations adopted by the Board of Recruitment

Specifies three regulations that are to be used by the Board of Recruitment.
No.1 - Specifies that no recruits are to be stationed in a place beyond that location's quota.
No.2 - Concerning those men not liable to the Draft, and what they can do.
No.3 - Concerning what the cities, towns, wards and individual can do with their deposits.
