A small news clip from 1878 telling of a recent temperance meeting which included prayer, singing by choir and declamations and a paper prepared and read by Mrs Stockwell. Songs were sung by Mr. W.W. Ball. "Our people have reason to be encouraged at the steady progress of the temperance movement in our midst."
