The Letters of Lathrop and Pomeroy - 1837-1838

A printed booklet of letters written by Joseph Stoddard Lathrop ( 1815-1877) and Abigail Alexander Pomeroy (1815 - 1861) during 1837 and 1838. The couple was married October 16, 1838. Abigail's grandfather, Dr. Medad Pomeroy, was a physician who practiced in Northfield and Warwick. Her father, also named Medad was a farmer in Warwick.
A note from the donor, Louise Rexford Wilson, from Amherst, is enclosed as is a note of thanks, dated Feb 17, 1960

Also many other notes and clippings of events that happened later in Warwick, a souvenir of a historical pageant, "Seth Pomeroy's Ride" from 1911, news clips and photos of ball teams from 1956 and other events in the 1950s.

Compiled by the Rev. Elias Nason, this book gives a good description of the State of Massachusetts(geology and mineralogy, mountains, bodies of water, climate,civil divisions and population, manufactures and commerce, government, education, etc) and lists in alphabetical order each city, town, village with background material.
