Civil War Kepi caps

Two Civil War kepi caps, marked "Bent & Bush Boston" on inside crown. One cap has black leather brim, the other is missing brim. Both caps are black wool with red velvet strip and gold braid. Two embossed gold buttons on either side of cap read: "Mass Volunteer Militia". Underside of buttons reads "Hobinson Makers"

Man's black tuxedo coat with tails of black wool, lined with black satin. Label on inner breast pocket reads: "Scott & Company limited BOSTON. Inside of label reads: " J. G. Hammond Sept. 24, 1935"

Man's Black Dress Coat

Black dress coat with black velvet buttons down front; four matching velvet buttons accenting tails on back of coat. Two matching velvet buttons on each coat sleeve. Coat of fine wool, lined with black cotton. Sleeves lined with blue/white stripe cotton. Hem appears to be unfinished. Label on coat says: Gemmill, Burnham & Co. HARTFORD CT".

Woman's maternity dress

Woman's maternity dress, also possibly a mourning dress. Fitted back bodice with center seam and two center side seams. Front bodice empire waist with pleats to skirt. Fitted coat style sleeves. Plain collar. Bodice is front opening and closed with 11 plain black buttons and buttonholes. 11 more black buttons continue down front of dress. Hem of front of dress finished with flat pleats. Skirt attaches to back bodice with flat pleats. Front bodice and sleeves lined with brown twill woven cotton. Back bodice and skirt lined with wool. Outer dress made of a very fine wool/cotton or wool/linen blend. Both machine and hand stitching.

Woman's one piece dress 1860-1865

Woman's one piece dress in cream, black and blue patterned silk. Hand stitched except for bodice dart seams. Bodice opens in front center with 9 blue silk crochet-covered buttons. Hook and eye closures on waist. Bodice and sleeves lined with cotton.Full length coat style sleeves in 2 pieces. Self-piping where sleeves join armholes. Skirt lined with tissue cotton. Hem edge bound with braided wool ribbon.

Steamer trunk

Hump back steamer trunk of wood panels with stenciled paper attached and metal reinforcements and hardware. Labels attached to trunk read: "via CANAL R,R."; "ADAMS EXPRESS CO. 59 Broadway NEW YORK"; "Hartford & New York STEAMBOAT COMPANY H.P.&P.R.R. ;partial label reads: "DODDS EXPRESS COACH COMPANY"; partial label reads "ASTOR HOUS". 1860's era womens's fashion print inside lid.
Costumes from 1976 bi-centennial play are in trunk.
